Mr. Oya was born in Aichi Prefecture in 1986, he has loved eating and cooking since childhood. He developed a passion for using knives and began cooking for his family. With his dream of becoming a chef, he entered the culinary world immediately after graduating from junior high school. After working at a hotel for nine years, he spent 14 years honing his skills at various establishments, including Edomae sushi restaurants, traditional Japanese restaurants, and kappo-style eateries. He is currently working at Sushi Naru, which opened in April 2026. Drawing on the craftsmanship cultivated during his training and the unique connections formed with each guest, he strives every day to create sushi that delights his guests.
