Mr. Homochi charms guests with the perfect balance of traditional French techniques, seasonal Japanese ingredients, and Kyoto style cooking.
Mr. Homochi was born in 1980 in Kagoshima, and he currently serves as the chef of The SAKURA. After moving to Nara when he was a child, he grew up immersed in the Kansai region's food culture. After he graduated from cooking school, he began working at a prestigious hotel in Nara, where, working at their banquet department, he acquired a wide range of skills in Japanese, Western, and Chinese cuisine, with a particular focus on French techniques. After serving as sous-chef at the hotel's restaurant, he moved to Kyoto to become head chef of the predecessor to his current restaurant, Kishozakura. In March 2026, he opened a new location next to Minami-za, creating enchanting dishes that blend French and Japanese culinary styles.
