6. Menchubo Ajisai Main Branch

Established over 80 years ago, this long-established ramen restaurant can be reached in 7 minutes on foot from Goryokaku-koen-mae Stop. Their signature dish is the [Ajisai Shio Ramen]. The soup is made with kombu (edible kelp) from south Hokkaido, as well as pork and chicken bones, while the straight noodles are specially ordered. Kombu is an essential ingredient for the clear and light yet flavorful soup. Together with their ramen, the 100% malt [Sapporo Classic] comes highly recommended. This beer is both refreshing and tasty, and matches divinely with ramen. Hokkaido is the only place where you can have it!

7. Shizen

Shizen is a European-style restaurant that's located near Kanemori Red Brick Warehouse in the Hakodate Bay area. It is opposite of Hakodate Meijikan. Built during the late Meiji era (1868 - 1912) in a renovated earthen warehouse, its beams, pillars, and roof are still the original ones, giving the restaurant a nostalgic feel and tranquil atmosphere. Their "authentic European cuisine that are made to be eaten with chopsticks" focuses on seafood and is appreciated by people of all ages. On the 2nd floor, there are private rooms where you can relax and forget about the daily grind.
